“INSUFFICIENT KNOWLEDGE OF BREAST CANCER SYMPTOMS DELAYS TREATMENT SEEKING AMONG WOMEN”

Our Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Asiye Gül gave a statement to Demirören News Agency (DHA) about how the insufficient knowledge about the symptoms and signs of breast cancer causes delays in treatment-seeking among women.

Highlighting the World Health Organization’s report that 2.3 million women were diagnosed with breast cancer worldwide in 2022, resulting in 670.000 deaths, Prof. Dr. Gül stressed the importance of educating the general population on breast cancer symptoms, risk factors, and early diagnosis methods due to the significant rise in cases.

ISTANBUL KULTUR UNIVERSITY MOTION ANALYSIS APPLICATION AND EVALUATION, APPLICATION AND RESEARCH CENTER (IKU-HAM) OPENED

Istanbul Kültür University Movement Analysis Application and Evaluation, Application and Research Center (IKU-HAM), which aims to provide health services under the headings of consultancy, education, research and social responsibility, was opened. In the center established on an area of ​​450 square meters, applications and research of health services for observation, monitoring, analysis and treatment on human biomechanics will be carried out. In addition, it will be possible to detect places where pain can occur before body pain occurs.
