An important meeting regarding internship and job opportunities in the fields of nursing and elderly care in Germany was held by the Faculty of Health Sciences on Monday, March 10, 2025, with the participation of the Undersecretary of the German Ministry of Health, Prof. Dr. Franke. The meeting was attended by our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Gülce Öğrüç Ildız, our Advisor to the Board of Trustees Özkan Gül, our Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Asiye Gül, our Head of the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Prof. Dr. B.

Our Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Asiye Gül gave a statement to Demirören News Agency (DHA) about how the insufficient knowledge about the symptoms and signs of breast cancer causes delays in treatment-seeking among women.

Highlighting the World Health Organization’s report that 2.3 million women were diagnosed with breast cancer worldwide in 2022, resulting in 670.000 deaths, Prof. Dr. Gül stressed the importance of educating the general population on breast cancer symptoms, risk factors, and early diagnosis methods due to the significant rise in cases.

An online communication and cooperation meeting was held between IKU Faculty of Health Sciences, IKU Faculty of Art and Design and Turkish Muscular Diseases Association (KASDER) on Wednesday, October 5th.

Stating that many students from modern countries prefer Türkiye in order to improve themselves in the field of health sciences, Prof. Dr. Ekin Akalan said that Türkiye has taken up the rational notion of closely following the countries that make modern science.

Istanbul Kültür University Movement Analysis Application and Evaluation, Application and Research Center (IKU-HAM), which aims to provide health services under the headings of consultancy, education, research and social responsibility, was opened. In the center established on an area of ​​450 square meters, applications and research of health services for observation, monitoring, analysis and treatment on human biomechanics will be carried out. In addition, it will be possible to detect places where pain can occur before body pain occurs.

The 3rd volume and 2nd issue of the Health and Life Sciences Journal, which was started to be published in 2019 by the Faculty of Health Sciences of Istanbul Kultur University, has been published. Our Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. N. Ekin Akalan, is the editor-in-chief of the journal. The editor of the journal is our Head of Nursing Department Prof. Dr. Asiye Gül; Department editors are Prof. Dr. Burcu Semin Akel, Head of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department, and Assist. Prof. Nazlı Batar, Head of Nutrition and Dietetics Department.

Istanbul Kultur University Movement Analysis Research and Application Center aims to prevent health problems in later ages by questioning the basic movement characteristics of the person. Established within the body of Istanbul Kultur University, the center draws attention by offering students the opportunity to practice as well as theoretical knowledge.
