Istanbul Kültür University Faculty of Health Sciences was established with the Council of Minister’s decision numbered 2016/8700 published in the Official Gazette dated April 8, 2016 and numbered 29678. The Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation and Department of Nutrition and Dietetics were opened, and our faculty started accepting students in the 2017-2018 academic year. It was decided to open the Nursing Department and as of the academic year 2019-2020, Iku nursing department has received its first students. Our faculty is located in Şirinevler Campus of İstanbul Kültür University and continues its educational activities with its 8 classrooms, 7 laboratories, and distinguished academic staff.
The search for healing has always existed since the birth of humankind. New branches of science, different health professions have emerged especially with the developments in the field of health after the 19th century and the need for these professions has been increasing ever since. In line with these needs, our faculty aims to train health personnel in the most needed and promising professions both in the world and in our country. Our primary goal is to train qualified and responsible health personnel in the profession with a training plan created by considering the needs of the changing and developing world. The Faculty of Health Sciences aims to educate scientists who are interested in lifelong learning, have scientific thinking, are contemporary, innovative and entrepreneurial, sensitive to the problems of the society they live in, adhering to cultural and ethical values.
Graduates of these health professions, which enable multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teamwork, also have different career options. Graduates are able to provide health services by giving consultancy, training and management services in public and private sector, primary, secondary and tertiary health institutions, private education and rehabilitation centers, public and private institutions serving in the health system in our country. Those who prefer to pursue an academic career in the field of health after graduation can work in the academic field with their master's and doctorate education in different specialties.
